Childhood friends Jason Carroll and John Burdett discovered a shared passion for serving families facing the challenges of distant medical care in 2013.
Upon learning that 30-40 families were often left waiting for housing in Birmingham each night, they devised an apartment model aimed at providing not only excellent service and housing, but also one that could scale efficiently in the future. They began the project using their own funds, emphasizing accountability and careful stewardship, values that continue to guide Red Mountain Grace today.
With a dual focus on compassionate care and an efficient operational system, Red Mountain Grace has rapidly grown to become one of Birmingham’s leading nonprofit organizations.
Since opening its doors in August 2013, Red Mountain Grace has housed over 1,000 families and has emerged as one of Birmingham’s most impactful nonprofit organizations.
