A Home for the Whole Family: Vickie and Mark
For 25 nights, Vickie and Mark—known lovingly by their grandchildren as Nana and Big Daddy—called Red Mountain Grace home while navigating a cancer journey they never expected.
Their time in Birmingham was filled with challenges, but also with precious moments of joy, especially when their grandchildren, Jase and Paisley, came to visit. Unlike any other hospitality house in Birmingham, we welcome not just patients and caregivers, but also their loved ones—including kids.
Thanks to the zoo passes provided by RMG, the family spent a day together, making memories that will last a lifetime. Even when Big Daddy was too weak to walk, he set his pride aside, hopped on a scooter, and took in every smile, every laugh, every wide-eyed moment of wonder.
“The apartment has been nothing short of amazing! It not only provided shelter in a storm we never thought we’d have to face, but a place of quiet rest for Big Daddy and even an adventure for our grandkids,” Vickie shared.
And now, as they head home, they carry with them not just the relief of positive test results but also the deep gratitude for the community that surrounded them in prayer and support.
To everyone who makes this mission possible—thank you. You are part of stories like this, where comfort, love, and a little bit of adventure make all the difference.
